World ActionWorld Action

At Buckingham Parish Church, we believe God has a heart for this world, and so we support a host of different organisations and charities who try to share God's love with those who need it.

Current Overseas Mission Partners are:

Chris & Fiona Courtman, Latin Link
Arequipa, Peru

Chris and Fiona, with Edith, Rufus & Teddy, have been on Latin Link’s Stride programme serving God in the city of Arequipa, Peru since September 2016. They are working with Nuevas Fuerzas to establish a social enterprise, which seeks to give employment and skills to differently-abled people. Nuevas Fuerzas, which means renewed strength, is a study centre run by the wife of a local pastor for differently-abled young adults to socialise and gain valuable skills in a safe environment. Peru, like many majority world contexts, has very little formal support for differently-abled people, making them some of the most marginalised and vulnerable members of society.

Fiona’s main focus is on using both her design training and teaching experience to equip the workers at Nuevas Fuerzas with new skills whilst seeking to establish a full-scale social enterprise. Chris is supporting Fiona by looking after their three young children, learning Spanish and providing assistance with the management and administrative elements of the project.

If you would like more information on what the Courtmans are doing please contact them by email or speak to Michael or Zena Greig.

Emma Cottrell – in the Middle East

Emma is one of our Mission partners, currently serving the Lord in the Middle East using creativity.
She is on team with Ellel Ministries and her main focus is on helping to support, equip and teach their local team where creativity has begun to be incorporated in prayer ministry, mentoring, and teaching. The Lord is using creativity in lots of different ways to bring healing and hope to people there who have often been traumatised by events in recent years.
She is involved with a cross section of groups, which include youth who have come out of the army and prostitutes and drug addicts.

If you would like more information on what Emma is doing please contact her by email emmacottrell@yahoo.com or speak to Michael or Zena Greig.

KABBUBU - UGANDA

We have links with a community in Uganda, a village called Kabubbu, through an organisation called the Quicken Trust.

In February 2011, Andrew Lightbown and Dave and Mel Criddle spent a week there, and were deeply moved. We came back sure that this was a project that we could partner with in exciting and useful ways, and also convicted and made more sure of the fact that this part of our mission.

We have sponsored a nurse for the local community, and the project has been meeting its aims successfully.

We are passionate about charitable causes and do whatever we can to help others.
