Alpha Course 01280 821509 or Gill & Keith Croxton 01280 815100
Our Alpha 2010 Course will start on September 13th 2010, with a launch party at 7.15pm. If you would like to be kept informed and sent an application form please e-mail your name, address and telephone number to Gill and Keith Croxton or telephone Gill and Keith (number above). You can also leave your details at the Parish Office located in the Parish Church Monday to Friday 10am to 12 noon.
The Alpha course is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith further or for the first time. You might not have been to church at all or have drifted away over time and feel now is the time to find out more about what the Christian faith says about life and the world we live in. On the other hand you might be a regular member of church but would like to brush up on the basics of your faith. Whatever the reason for coming to Alpha you will be most welcome and we have no doubt you will enjoy your time on the course. More details are available on the national Alpha website.

Children's Society Maureen Austin
We are a small committee of busy people and would welcome support in any way, shape or form. We have had another successful year and we thank everyone for supporting our events, holding house boxes, buying Christmas cards, helping with house to house collections, a job that is not so popular but which brings in a large part of our yearly revenue. The collection usually takes place during the first two weeks of April and I would love to hear from anyone who would be willing to collect, just one road is helpful and worthwhile.
Churches Together in Buckingham Maureen Austin
Churches in Buckingham work together on many projects during the year especially at Christmas and Easter time. Teas and coffees were served pre the Christmas parade, and carol singing took place in Cornwall's meadow on the shops late night opening. All the Churches contribute to the Christmas leaflet, and are in the process of putting together a welcome leaflet to be distributed to the new houses in the town and also placed in the library and doctors surgeries etc. The Christian Aid frugal lunch takes place during lent, and on Good Friday there is an open air service, followed by tea, coffee and hot cross buns, thanks to all who generously contribute the buns. There is also a 'Stations of The Cross' Service at St. Bernardines Church on Good Friday evening when all are welcome to attend.
Church World Action Group Ruth Newell
The Church World Action group meets two or three times a year to hear reports from the members of our group who have offered to be the link contact with the charities we support, and to recommend to our PCC the charitable donations we allocate each year. We try to share our giving to Christian Charities both local and in the developing world, and in 2009 the total of £6000 was shared between Project Street Life (Buckingham), World Vision, Quicken Trust, Biblelands, Compassion, Bitternes Afloat, AIDS widows Uganda, Buckingham Parish Youth Worker. We feel passionate about charitable causes and what we can do to help others, and new members would be most welcome to join us.
House & Study Groups Keith & Gill Croxton 01280 815100
House Groups are an important part of our church family life. They are about building relationships and friendships, supporting each other in prayer and practical ways, developing and deepening our faith together, studying God's word and having fun. We try, as best we can, to embrace all these. If you are new to our church they are also a great way of getting to know a few folk really well and quickly which makes settling into a large church that much easier. More details about the different groups can be found in the House Group section.
