26th January 2020                                                                    Third Sunday of Epiphany

Welcome to Buckingham Parish Church.
If you are new or just visiting do please make yourself known to one of the clergy or the welcome team – we’d love to get to know you.

Children: We have great provision for children in our services.
At the 9.30am service there are age-appropriate groups for ages 3 to Year 6.
There are also two zones at the back of church for younger children to play whilst the service continues and they remain in the care of their parent/carer.
At our 11.15am service we have a Youth Group and at 6pm we have a group for children in Year 3 to Year 6 as well as our Youth Group.

Streaming: All services are streamed into the Tower Room. This is a quiet place to go but children using it should be supervised by a parent/carer at all times. Please note that our 9.30am and 6.00pm services will be ‘live streamed’ for on-line viewing. If you do not wish to be included, please sit at the rear of the church or in the side aisles. All that is recorded (for viewing later) is the sermon, featuring only the preacher.

Safeguarding: Two television documentaries aired w/c 13th Jan relating to abuse within the Church of England were painful and shocking to watch. We were reminded once again of how vital it is that healthy safeguarding practices are in place in every parish. Our churches and church-related activities must be safe for all, with safeguarding policies and practices that promote a safer church.
We need to be certain that all known cases of concern about the behaviour of our clergy or church officers towards children and adults have been considered and dealt with appropriately. Every church in the Diocese, including our own, is now undertaking a comprehensive review as part of the national Past Cases Review 2 (PCR2).
If you have information or need to make a disclosure regarding church- related abuse, please make direct contact with the Safeguarding Team at the Diocese of Oxford or if you’d rather call the dedicated telephone NSPCC helpline, which is independent of the Church. Call 0800 80 20 20
