This week's notices: (scroll down for last week's notices)

9th  December 2018                                 Second Sunday of Advent

Welcome to Buckingham Parish Church - If you are new or just visiting do please make yourself known to one of the clergy or the welcome team – we’d love to get to know you. We have great provision for children in all our services. At the 9.30am service there are age-appropriate groups for ages 3 to Yr 6. There are also two zones at the back of church for younger children to play whilst the service continues and they are in the care of their parent/carer. At our 11am service we have a group for primary aged children and at 6pm we have a group for children in Yr 3 – Yr 6 as well as our Youth Group. The Tower Room is available in all services and has the service streamed in. It is a quieter place to go but children using it will need to be supervised by a parent/carer at all times. Please note that our 9.30am and 6.00pm services will be ‘live streamed’. If you don’t wish to be included, please sit at the rear of the church or in the side aisles. All that is recorded (for viewing later) is the sermon, featuring only the preacher.

O Lord, raise up we pray, your power and come among us,
and with great might succour us;
that whereas, through our sins and wickedness we are grievously hindered in running the race that is set before us,
your bountiful grace and mercy may speedily help and deliver us;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, to whom with you and the Holy Spirit, be honour and glory, now and for ever.

Pray through the week for:
Those who are ill.
All those who mourn, that they may be comforted by God’s presence.

Dear church family, a BIG thank you for all the socks - 275 pairs in total were collected! We have sent packages containing these and other items to Romania to the 3 children’s villages and also a package to a local women’s refuge. Thank you for your support and generosity. Please pray the items arrive safely and each item reaches the child or person God intends. With love and a big thank you once again,  Emma info@createdcreative.co.uk

Books for Christmas:  There is a new selection of books and bibles on the bookstall. Many of them would make wonderful gifts for children and adults. There are also some Advent books which are a great way to focus on the coming of Jesus - Emmanuel. Please do take time to have a look and do ask if there is a particular book that you would like me to order.  Zena Greig

Traidcraft: There is still time to order your Christmas foods, cards and gifts from Traidcraft.  Catalogues and order forms are in the cupboard, so have a look and email Tina on randtmitchell@tiscali.co.uk.  There will be a Traidcraft stall at the Christmas Fair in town after the parade on December 15th for that last minute shopping!
